The most outstanding fashion success story of the 2026 awards season is Teyana Taylor. nothing is one battle after another Celebrities cannot wear it. Schiaparelli whale tail dress? Check. Ethereal Cluster III; Headmistress-like Thom Browne; Body Shaping Müller? Check, check, check. But perhaps no one saw her coming to win a 2026 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award.
During British awards season, the Harlem-born actor teamed up with Burberry’s Daniel Lee to design a dress that a) suited the weather and b) fit in with her long-standing calling card, ultra-chic style (can you believe it’s been 10 years since Taylor’s hit “Fade” video?) The pair broke the typical red carpet rules by creating a plum silk duchess trench coat with dramatic cuffs. A collar that frames her face and deep pockets that accommodate her (insert your imaginary Taylor’s favorite snack choice here). Reader, you have never seen trenches like these.

“Teyana is the epitome of femininity and strength, and we wanted this look to reflect her style,” Lee said on the phone. British Fashion. “My favorite element is the collar, which is shaped like a rose through layering of silk duchess—the sculptural softness contrasts with the trench coat silhouette.”

Swifting through the media with the confidence of an actor who no longer has to perform on a mini-mic, Taylor could be found at the Royal Festival Hall chatting with co-star Chase Infiniti and Hollywood legend Glenn Close, who was straight back from the Erdem anniversary show. Maybe they’re sharing London Fashion Week notes? After all, Burberry will wrap up its fall 2026 fashion season tomorrow with its usual star-studded spectacle. We hate to say it, but Teyana outshines them before the show even starts.
