How safe is America from polio?

For decades, American children have been regularly vaccinated against polio, and the virus that paralyzed many people has been all but eradicated in the United States. But today’s vaccinations could allow the deadly disease to make a comeback. CBS News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jonathan Rupke spoke with David Osinski, author of “Poliomyelitis: An American Story,” and violinist Itzhak Perlman, who contracted polio as a child, about how parents choosing not to vaccinate their children may be affecting polio rates in the United States.
