Bangladesh chief adviser Yunus thanks top bureaucrats for cooperating with interim

February 10, 2026

Dhaka – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today thanked the Secretaries of Ministries and Departments for their cooperation in the administration of the government.

He expressed his gratitude in his office this morning before the advisory board meeting. Sources said the remarks were made during a brief meeting with secretaries of various ministries.

From about 10:15 a.m. to about 11:00 a.m., the Chief Counsel spoke with the secretaries for about 45 minutes.

He said that many of the goals set during the formation of the interim government have been achieved and hoped that the next government will continue to advance unfinished tasks.

A secretary who spoke on condition of anonymity said the meeting was mainly to thank the bureaucracy for its support in various government activities.

Another secretary quoted the chief adviser as saying: “We started focusing on three issues – reform, justice and elections. In addition to many reforms, we left with many more recommendations. We hope that the next government will take these recommendations into consideration.”

Almost all the secretaries (approximately 70) were present. According to sources, only the cabinet secretary spoke on behalf of the secretaries.
