Last night, we saw the Seahawks beat the Patriots and Bad Bunny put on a great halftime show on the biggest sports night of the year. Now, all eyes are on fashion’s Super Bowl: Wednesday marks the official start of New York Fashion Week, six days of Fall/Winter 2026 shows, showroom tours and parties that will last well past bedtime on school nights.
Fashion Editors’ New York Fashion Week must-haves
Unlike the expected heat of September, February Fashion Week requires strategic cold-weather dressing. Our editors are battling icy sidewalks, sub-zero temperatures and long hours crisscrossing the city, from fashion shows uptown to presentations downtown. So, preparation is key.
Ahead of this week, we asked editors what they’re buying to get ready for fashion month. Is this a statement coat that can withstand the city cold without sacrificing style? A crisp button-down shirt peeking out from underneath cozy cashmere? Or a cold weather essential (maybe some Zicam or Vitamin C?) to help ward off those chilly winter winds.
Below, what do you find? Fashion Editors are paying attention as they prepare to attend New York Fashion Week.
Chloe Malle, Head of Editorial Content
“It’s going to be cold again next week! I’ll be layering a Heattech base layer with a sweater vest, and I won’t skimp on the Zicam!”
