For fall, Nellie Partow is focusing on what she does best: reinterpreting classic menswear through a female lens using time-honored materials like poplin, cotton, and ultra-fine anti-pill knits that took five years to develop. “Simply put, I really love American sportswear,” she says, looking back on her 15th year in business. Much of Pato’s allure comes from her sharp finishes, and her collection was certainly a devil in the detail, although the designer was quick to mention that her clothes weren’t overly precious. In fact, the wear resistance of a piece is a factor that it must check.
The lookbook shows how Pato reinvented a familiar sportswear formula. An asymmetrical cropped shirt pairs effortlessly with pleated thigh-high jeans, while a luxe white shearling jacket adds textural luxury to the ensemble. Meanwhile, a black midi jacket in hairy calfskin contrasts with the edgy style of white shearling. Colors are simple and bright, with cornflower blue and rich burgundy in white, slate gray and navy, bringing casual confidence to everyday dressing.
