If you’re having a barn wedding or just want to bring in a bit of outdoor style, keep your rehearsal dinner leaning toward a Western aesthetic. “This theme would work just as beautifully in an adobe yard in New Mexico or Santa Barbara as it would in an Idaho field or a traditional Midwestern barn,” Brasena shares. “For décor, use plaid patterns on blankets, napkins or napkins, and leather upholstery and raw wood on furniture and paper goods. Add a round wood bar to serve cowboy-style cocktails, and custom napkins are printed with Western patterns. Pieces include on-trend cobalt blue florals, plaid linens, and wood and leather chairs, adding Western details that avoid kitsch.”

If you want your rehearsal dinner to have a charming, laid-back feel, consider hosting a picnic outdoors. Long wooden tables decorated with flowers and linens, as well as seating areas and blankets on the floor, will create a fun high-low moment for this kind of holiday. “It reduces stress and encourages guests to relax, mingle and enjoy their surroundings – perfect for daytime or evening events in the summer, when the nights are long and warm,” Brassena describes. Consider using light tones of sage, soft blue, or buttery yellow and placing chic umbrellas to create shade for your guests. “Random arrangements of wildflowers and collected vases add a sense of gathering, while gingham, stripes, and scalloped china create a casual but pretty look for the table setting,” notes Brassena. “Add wicker baskets, picnic baskets and galvanized metal accents such as tin frames for pub signs.”
