Last March, Adrien Brody took to the stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles to win the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in “Adrien Brody.” fauvism. A year later, the actor will make his Broadway debut in Lindsey Ferrentino’s play 13 fear— who, along with Tessa Thompson, is getting buzz this awards season for her work as Nia DaCosta haidaacting opposite him. Preview of work directed by David Cromer (good night and good luck;This season’s loopholes), will be performed at the James Earl Jones Theater on March 19, 2026, with opening night scheduled for April 15.
Adapted from David Hinton’s 2015 documentary of the same name, 13 fear It tells the story of Nick Aris (Brody), who spent more than 20 years on death row for a crime he insists he did not commit. (Thompson will play Jackie, a prison volunteer with whom Nick develops a deep and lasting connection.) When Sarah Crompton introduced Brody FashionWriting in Winter 2025 magazine, he described how the first drama in decades had completely sunk into his brain. “I didn’t really fall asleep,” he said. “When I woke up, dialogue from the play kept running through my head.” However, he also saw firsthand how satisfying the work was for Yaris, now a writer, who came to see it regularly. “He shared with me how I could take away so much pain and suffering by helping tell his story.” (13 fear It will be launched in partnership with the Innocence Project, a non-profit organization that has used scientific data to bring peace to more than 250 wrongfully convicted prisoners. )
