Jonty Bravery, a 24-year-old man sentenced to life in prison for throwing a 6-year-old French boy from a 10th-floor balcony at London’s Tate Modern, has been given an additional sentence on new charges.
Bravery was recently found guilty after being charged with assaulting two nurses at Broadmoor Hospital, a high-security psychiatric hospital in the UK, in September 2024. He has been jailed at Broadmoor since being sentenced in 2020 for the Tate Gallery attack. That year he was jailed for another 14 weeks for assaulting two other members of staff at Broadmoor.

Westminster Magistrates’ Court this week sentenced Bravery to 16 weeks in prison for the assault, which will run concurrently with his current sentence of at least 15 years. Bravely refused to attend the hearing.
“This was a violent and distressing incident for nurses who were simply doing their job. No one should have to face this kind of assault when providing care,” Jessica Hart, of the Crown Prosecution Service, told the Guardian. British Broadcasting Corporation.
The attack at the Tate Modern left the boy with brain haemorrhages, a fractured spine and other life-changing injuries that left him in a wheelchair. The boy landed on a balcony 5 stories below, falling 100 feet. During the court hearing, prosecutors cited audio recordings released by the court.
