Dhaka— Some brand-new garments orders are being changed from Bangladesh to various other nations as a result of political unpredictability and the recurring gas and electrical power situation, some profession body leaders and merchants stated today.
As some regional merchants fall short to satisfy manufacturing targets and ship products by sea on schedule, they are compelled to select costly air cargo to satisfy rigorous due dates established by worldwide garments stores and brand names.
Market experts stated that under such scenarios, little and medium-sized garment manufacturing facilities are having a hard time and their monetary stamina wants to handle the loss of orders.
They made the statements at a workshop labelled “Present Obstacles and Method Ahead in the Garment Market” arranged by the Bangladesh Garment Purchasers Organization (BGBA) at Sonargaon Resort in Dhaka.
BGBA Head Of State Md Mofazzal Hosen Pabel chaired the workshop.
Mohammad Rashid, vice-president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Organization (BKMEA), stated: “We are undergoing a tough duration as a result of the present unpredictable circumstance in the nation. If these difficulties are not dealt with quickly, the situation will just strengthen.”
Mohammed Zakir Hossain, secretary-general of BGBA, stated that as a result of the lack of gas and lots losing of 3 to 4 hours a day, manufacturing facilities are incapable to generate products on schedule and can not provide products in time.
” Because of this, merchants need to send their products to purchasers through costly air cargo, triggering them massive monetary losses,” he included.
