Reschio is like many other luxury resorts in Italy: it has a swimming pool, a spa, and elegantly decorated bedrooms with plush four-poster beds. Otherwise, Reschio is completely different from other luxury resorts in Italy. The swimming pool is a glassy oval mirage set among a grove of umbrella-shaped pine trees, making it one of the most beautiful hotel swimming spots in the world. The spa is not actually a spa but a bathhouse: an underground network of pools, hot spring rooms and tubs, lit by flickering candlelight and roaring fireplaces. What about the four-poster bed? They were custom designed by hotel owner Count Benedikt Bolza and covered in cool Italian cotton percale embroidered with the hotel’s cross-stitch pattern.

So it stands to reason that the lifestyle brand the Bolza family launched this spring isn’t quite a lifestyle brand either. Creation is in their DNA: architect Benedikt oversaw every detail of the 1,000-year-old castle’s meticulous restoration ahead of its opening in 2021, and even designed nearly every piece of furniture in the hotel. His wife, Nencia, painted stunning Renaissance-style frescoes in the church that interweave botanical illustrations with the history of the Borza family. Now, the next generation – specifically the couple’s three daughters, Giorgiana, Nerina and Vita – is leading Reschio Collections.
