Formerly known as Baron’s Cove, the Faraway Hotel reopened under a new name in June this year and is a newly recognized hotel. (The property itself has a rich history: Since the 1950s, it has attracted a fascinating artistic and literary crowd, including Truman Capote, Jackson Pollock and Kurt Vonnegut.)

While many hotels in the Hamptons tend toward a bright, beachy clapboard aesthetic, the Faraway, located in the historic whaling town of Sag Harbor, embraces nautical elements like its predecessor: shell-shaped accents and moody aqua hues feature heavily in the design, which was created in collaboration with Jenny Bukovec Studio. Many of the hotel’s 67 rooms have harbor views, inviting you to wake up and admire the sailboats.

Amenities-wise, EHP Resort has an abundance of amenities, including swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, and a marina for boating. (Though guests without a rental can still get out on the water: There are kayaks, paddleboards, and boats available for charter.) The only accommodation options at EHP are cabins, making it perfect for families or guests looking for a more intimate stay. Meanwhile, a gift shop sells beach homewares and designer clothing.

There’s also Sí Sí, a lively waterfront restaurant that has become one of the hardest to get a reservation in the Hamptons due to its unparalleled sunset views. For more casual daytime dining, head to Buongiorno. The breakfast café serves buttery croissants and sandwiches, perfect for the beach.
