Rachel Sennott Chases Down Fashion’s Hottest Invite

Will a million views earn Gen Z It girls and Hollywood darlings an invite to the Met Gala? Rachel Sennott seems to think so, or at least she poses the question in a miniseries she wrote for Marc Jacobs titled on site. The first episode of the pre-fall campaign begins with Sennott chasing fashion gold against the backdrop of a hot summer day turning into a drunken city night.

After all, as Sennott puts it, this is a “big year” for her because i love los angeles. Despite not receiving an invitation, she sent “nice champagne and gift cards,” and she began to do what any Twitter-born comic would do: go viral. “This campaign is about all the chaos, absurdity and funny moments that make you feel seen or completely ignored,” Rachel Sennott told us Fashion. “I wanted to capture that energy through storytelling that makes it feel real to us.”

Her frantic pursuit evokes much of the downtown bingo card – the search for Kareem Rahma Take the subway East Broadway subway station; struggling with the Citi Bike stop at Dimes Plaza; paying for a walk with her dad and bumping into Francesca Scorsese; and making the mistake of asking Lucien’s hostess Anna if she finally had the tickets to confirm her reservation. Being photographed with Sandra Bernhard while conspiring at the back table with True Whitaker and Morgan Maher was just an added bonus.

Will her trip to Manhattan be enough to seal the deal? We’ll see on May 4th.
