On May 4, stars will be attending the 2026 Met Gala wearing their best and boldest looks. It promises to be a memorable evening filled with customs and fashions. How will A-list guests interpret this year’s theme and dress code? Only time will tell, but actress (and fashion superstar) Teyana Taylor is one celebrity destined to succeed at both.
Taylor, who will serve on the gala’s hosting committee this year, has extensive experience on the Met stage as she has participated in the Met Ball for five consecutive years. She attended the event for the first time in 2021, where she wore a silver Prabal Gurung bra top and maxi train skirt. The following year, she went even more futuristic, opting for a sculptural purple design by Iris van Herpen, accessorized with a snake-shaped headpiece by House of Malakai. Quite simply, no one brings drama like Teyana Taylor.
Most recently, in 2023, Taylor wore a hip-baring tweed Thom Browne dress, and in 2024, she donned a shapely rose-embellished gown by The Blonds. However, nothing could compare to her look at the 2025 Met Gala, which fit the “made-for-you” dress code: She wore a custom-made Zodiac suit by legendary costume designer Ruth E. Carter. “Even though it’s not a suit theme, I’m wearing a suit,” Taylor told Fashion appearance.
