What gets you through the morning slump or the afternoon slump? Snack jars may be the answer to those small but persistent hunger pangs without having to reach for a packaged protein bar or bore yourself other Wrinkled apple.
Since I work in the city, I always have to something Hopping around in my handbag is something I can rely on when I’m craving a snack on the go: maybe two kiwis or some rogue chocolate brazil nuts.
Then I saw these really nice and aesthetically pleasing videos of a woman making her own little snack jars that serve as an afternoon pick-me-up no matter where she is. The palm-sized jars are different every time, only a few inches wide, and filled with rich goodness: sometimes these jars contain a few walnuts, a chunky medjool date, some coconut shavings, and a bar of dark chocolate. Inside there will be dried mango slices, a block of cheese, a hard-boiled egg and some pistachios. The goal seems to be to pack as much variety (colours, textures and flavours) into a limited range – and add a little extra whimsy. Think of it as your own carefully designed portable charcuterie board—savory, sweet, or both, if you prefer.
But there’s something more inside that metal box: it invites you to take a few minutes to enjoy whatever treat you’ve crafted for yourself. So says our canned snack queen, Anastasia, known as TheNakedLight on Instagram and TikTok. She even wrote a complete guide on making your own snack jars. Anastasia, who has a background in banking, said she has been trying to find a balance between physical and mental health for more than a decade. She is trained as a yoga and martial arts teacher and as a holistic trainer.

“My philosophy isn’t really about snacks, and snacks aren’t really about food,” reflects Anastasia. “It’s about the moment. In my opinion A Guide to Canned SnacksI share simple practices with small bites, like nuts or dates, as a way to slow down, notice, and reconnect with yourself. “
Anastasia remembers that the first snack can started as a “ritual”. The first snack can quickly became popular in early March 2025. She named it “The Art of Snacks”. It consists of some dried fruits, dates, chocolate, a biscuit and some nuts. “Tin becomes a tool,” she continued. “Instead of eating automatically, you turn it into a little ritual, and over time, that awareness starts to influence your daily choices as well.”
