The Bride Wore Archival Valentino to Exchange Vows on Stage at a Parisian Theater

Madison Childs Boniface and Jordan Lee had an unusually cute encounter: Jordan was the best man at a wedding and was responsible for guiding Madison to her seat. “There was an instant attraction between us and we exchanged phone numbers at the reception,” shares Madison, a stylist and vintage curator. Despite the obvious chemistry at the wedding, they didn’t plan a first date until six months later, in April 2022, when Madison made the first move by texting an investment banker asking for a drink. “After six beets, my mouth was stained crazy red and we were practically inseparable,” she said.

By October 2024, Jordan was ready to propose to Madison and begin their second act. “In October, we drove to the Maker Hotel for a long weekend and immediately began doing our favorite activities: antique shopping, exploring, and enjoying delicious food,” Madison recalls. On Saturday, a few (intentional) wrong turns on the road led the couple to Woodstock’s Maverick Hall, a building Madison’s grandfather helped realize. “After walking around the estate for a while longer, Jordan got down on one knee and popped the question with a gorgeous ring and a custom cowboy hat ring box to add some flair,” Madison recalled. “After a night of celebrating together, we returned to the city ready for what could only be described as a ‘ripper’ night ahead.”

The couple’s family flew in and their best friends gathered for an engagement party at Titsou Bar inside Fouquet’s, dinner at Il Buco and an impromptu dance party at Paul’s Casablanca. “Taking it home on a luggage trolley from our lobby was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend that only someone like Jordan could plan,” she added.

Wedding planning became a creative endeavor for Madison, who devoted much of his time to planning the January 17, 2026 celebration in Paris. After touring 16 venues and 23 hotels recommended by planners Smith + James, the couple decided to tie the knot at the Trianon Theater in the Elysée Palace in Montmartre and host a dinner at the Baroness as an alternative to the rehearsal dinner. “From sharing the initial, incredibly detailed deck with our planners, Smith + James, to hand-selecting the fabrics with our production suppliers in a small showroom in Paris, there wasn’t an area that I wasn’t involved in,” says the bride. “I fell even more in love with design, scouring the internet for obscure rental companies that could make our fantasies come true, and becoming strangely obsessed with all things paper.”

A decisive element of the wedding design is that the ceremony will take place on a theater stage with guests seated in the audience. “The idea of getting married on a theater stage entered my brain as a premonition,” Madison said. “Once it happened, I couldn’t get it out of my mind and felt almost compelled to make it a reality. It was certainly not Jordan’s dream to get married on stage, but his support for me has been unwavering and this dream was no exception.” The event concluded with a welcome cocktail hour, where posters and popcorn were handed out, and there were many great performance moments throughout the weekend.
