Anyma and Lisa on Creativity, Technology, and Collaborating on “Bad Angel”

Tonight Italian-American DJ and producer Matteo Milleri makes his Indio, California debut as Anyma Garden of Edenhis ambitious new audiovisual project, on the main stage at Coachella. His headlining show is scheduled to return next Friday, marking the start of a massive world tour that will take him from Shanghai to Brussels, Ibiza, London and beyond, before concluding at the Stade de la Défense in Paris in December. It’s all intoxicating and exciting for fans of the frothy textures and throbbing beats of Anyma’s most popular tracks.

Before that happens, however, he joins forces with fellow agenda-setting global superstar Lisa to release the dancefloor single “Bad Angel” last Wednesday. The song has been played more than 6 million times on Spotify and YouTube and was released alongside a mind-bending video. In it, Lisa, wearing a white tights and long gray hair, transforms into Beatrix, an alter ego that is half human, half angel, and seemingly half robot, existing in a dizzying liminal space between classical antiquity and a futuristic dystopia. (Aesthetically and conceptually, according to Anyma, Garden of Eden Reconcile the fantasy of a “digital afterlife” in which “human uploaded intelligence and artificial intelligence try to find a point of coexistence” with the loose structure of Dante Alighieri Divine Comedy.)
