Dakota Johnson and Role Model Are My New Favorite Celebrity Relationship

Love is a wonderful thing, especially when you look at it from the outside. In this column, we look at the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures, while we try to make sense of our own from their well-documented relationships.

Honestly, when I first heard that Dakota Johnson and Role Model were dating, I felt like I was undergoing a cognitive function test. (“This is……example Are you in the room with us now? ”) But now that I’m mentally over Johnson’s previous relationship with Chris Martin — looking back, what more could I want? them Once upon a time, especially given Johnson’s habit of hanging out barefoot with Martin’s daughter Apple for a house blend of coffee — I realized this was my favorite celebrity relationship.

Just last weekend, Johnson was spotted out and about multiple times with Role Model (aka Tucker Pillsbury, aka Emma Chamberlain’s ex; oh, what a tangled web we weave!). On Friday, they made out in Los Feliz — a Los Angeles neighborhood almost designed for celebrities to make out — and then, on Sunday, they were spotted grabbing coffee together. Were they together all weekend? Do they go their separate ways on Saturday, take a shower, nap and text each other to introduce each other, then reunite the next day? I have a lot of questions, but their answers are absolutely none of my business!

As it happens, Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffith, is also an authority figure who weighed in on her daughter’s budding relationship with her role model. On Sunday, DeuxMoi posted a (somewhat creepy) video of Griffith calling role models “awesome,” and if you happen to have a mom who’s a little bit mean, you know that kind of approval is hard to come by unless the young musician you’re dating actually happens to be a) cool and b) nice to you. I mean, our moms want the best for us, right? They have no interest in co-signing a doomed situation!

this materialist star and “When the Wine Runs Out” singer was first spotted hanging out in Los Angeles in December, but this weekend saw some rare PDA. I very much hope this is just the beginning of Johnson’s dalliance with role models being legitimized, I return Hopefully I’ll be sitting next to them at Little Dom’s soon, because the non-fiction books I’m forcing myself to read now about the Hollywood Blacklist are actually pretty boring and I can use some overheard celebrity intrigue to liven up my next solo date night.
