Doja Cat Loves Anything Surreal, Eighties, and—Yes—Leopard Print

No one understands the transformative power of fashion better than Doja Cat.

Since rising to fame in 2020, the singer and FashionThe April 2026 cover star — has developed a unique personal style marked by camp, surrealism and — yes — plenty of animal print.

Early on, Doja embraced ’70s glamor, like the shimmering Georges Hobeika dress she wore to the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, or the Cher-esque Brandon Maxwell dress she wore to the iHeart Radio Music Awards the same year. But eventually, she settled into her now-signature alternative taste. At the 2022 Daily Front Row Awards, she ditched the sexy see-through look for a Viktor & Rolf haute couture suit with oversized shoulders and sculpted shoulders. But she’s proof that surreal doesn’t have to mean eccentric—just look at the sleek black Schiaparelli dress she wore when she hit the billboards in 2022.

Over time, she has managed to adapt her style to every occasion, striking a balance between over-the-top and glamorous. Take the 2025 Oscars, for example, where she walked the red carpet in a crystal-covered leopard-print dress by Balmain. While this isn’t a traditional Oscars dress, it does represent her take on awards attire. Later, at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, she opted for a slinky gold look, with a gown embroidered with trompe l’oeil figures of the human body.

So it’s no surprise that Doja Cat is also a highly anticipated Met Gala attendee. Lest we forget her 2023 debut, she paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld by dressing up as his cat Choupette (feline facial prosthetics and all). Since then, she’s experimented with wet-dress looks from Vetements and paid homage to her feline energy in Marc Jacobs.

Here, in memory of Doja Cat Fashion cover, take a look back at some of the singer’s best looks.
