I’m not usually one to make New Year’s resolutions because I know I probably won’t keep them. Instead, I prefer exceeding my own expectations rather than falling short of impossible standards.
That said, I love setting fashion-oriented goals for myself. Sometimes it’s about consumption, sometimes it’s about honing your personal style. So I also polled my colleagues on their 2026 goals. They range from the practical (getting rid of the pile of clothes in your bedroom and laying out your clothes the night before) to the curative (cleaning out your closet and shopping with a purpose). Please read below.
I like to plan my outfit the night before – literally! Actually laying them out makes my mornings less terrible. —Chloe Malle, director of editorial content
I want to hang my clothes up in time for 2026, mind you, I say timelyno immediately. I’m a realist and can’t allow myself to fail. We all have a place in our room – mine is a chair – where we keep everything in a big pile to deal with later. maybe i will actually arrive sit If I really dream big, sit in the chair. —Margaux Anbouba, senior beauty and wellness editor
My 2026 fashion resolution is to wear more heels. It might just be Peter Pan syndrome, but whenever I wear heels I feel like I’m pretending to be an adult. To elaborate more, I’m 27 years old (almost 10 years of legal adult age) and only 5’1″ (and a half!) tall, so I could definitely benefit from the extra few inches that slingbacks provide. After years of admiring my coworkers for clattering around the office in tiny heels, I decided enough was enough and 2026 would be the year I mastered wearing casual heels to work. -Florence O’Connor, Content Manager
In 2026, I want to invest in some trendy pieces to enhance the foundation of my wardrobe. Speaking of which, I also want to ask, fashionable means to me. Sure, it might not be the red vinyl snakeskin pants my coworkers would wear, but a pastel print or bold color might be just what I need to freshen up my wardrobe—all within reason. ——Hannah Jackson, fashion writer
