There’s nothing like the start of a new year to inspire new styling ideas. We’re looking to our Resort 2026 collections for inspiration and found plenty of chic ways to rethink winter dressing without having to build our wardrobes from scratch. Overall memo? Layer carefully and let your outerwear do the heavy lifting.
Key items for your winter wardrobe
At Maria McManus and Magda Butrym, we were reminded of the power of a coat, especially one in shearling or faux fur, which can provide warmth in a refined way from now until early spring. Clever layering techniques come from Celine’s Tory Burch and Michael Rider, where neutrals are juxtaposed with flashes of bright color and bold prints. Those who can’t wait for some sunshine and bargains should consider Khaite and Chloé, where spring pieces like floral dresses and Bermuda shorts arrive early to keep the cold at bay.
Some other look highlights include a knitted sweater by Lauren Manoogian and a matching coat and headscarf by Eudon Choi. All of these looks feature wardrobe staples—blazers, trench coats, base layers, and chunky knits that you probably already have in your rotation.
We’re ending the winter styling blues with these resort-inspired outfits.

polished black leggings
The secret to making leggings feel like pants is to style them like pants. Choose a white button-down shirt instead of a white T-shirt, then add a shearling jacket for texture and contrast. Kitten heel pumps, a pearl necklace and a fringed hairpin give it an elegant Audrey Hepburn look.

Preparing your Bermuda for the winter
Wintering in Bermuda? Totally chic and doable. It’s all about layering: thick socks underneath, over-the-knee boots for warmth, and a fitted turtleneck as a base layer. Pair it with a technical jacket from Chloé (a functional piece that’s as elegant as it is) and a bowler hat.

office courage
Plaid continues to dominate, taking cues from Alexander McQueen, paired with turtleneck tops and double-breasted jackets for a work-ready look. A statement belt and knee-high boots balance attitude with a sophisticated touch.

Wear matching headscarf
A scarf shouldn’t be an afterthought, but a key component of your look. This winter, try pairing a headscarf with a coat for a clean look inspired by Eudon Choi. Keep your base layer monochromatic and pair it with yellow accents and some timeless loafers.

Find harmony in opposition
If you want to play with prints and textures, take a cue from Khaite: The New York-based brand paired a shearling coat with a floral dress (a cozy and warm option that never fails) and paired it with the wildcard of a leopard-print hat.

dress up sweatpants
Add sophistication to sportswear the Adam Lippes way. Pointed-toe white pumps and a crisp button-down shirt can easily elevate the casual look of a pull-on pair. Add a shearling coat to stay cozy and complete the look.

put it in neutral
While a splash of color can help ease the winter blues, sticking to neutrals will make you feel grounded. Take a page from Michael Rider’s Celine resort collection and wear more neutral colors. Pair cream pleated trousers with a white turtleneck and a black button-down shirt, then finish with a beige blazer. Pair it with white lace-up glove shoes—the shoe trend next season is expected to be everywhere.

Not too much knitted fabric
Monochromatic looks don’t have to be dull—different textures and proportions in a tonal palette can keep things interesting, as Laura Manoogian’s resort collection shows. How to dress from the inside out: Start with an Olivia von Halle cashmere knit suit and a pair of cozy socks, then add a Laura Monogian robe jacket. Finished with a Lisa Yang beanie and Cuyana scarf; a pair of Christen suede clogs laid the foundation for the look.

Fashion-Girls Matching Sportswear
Yes, matching activewear is fashion-approved; it’s just about how you style them. Magda Butrym’s resort collection proves that the secret is dressing up. Faux fur coats, crocheted hats, and snakeskin accessories can make an impactful off-duty look.

Colored layers
Brighten up a gray day with inspiration from Tory Burch: Add an unexpected splash of lime green to wardrobe staples, like a gray V-neck, for dimension and contrast. Washed denim and heeled Mary Janes create a work-appropriate look. Complete the look with a pony hair jacket and a simple black belt.

Everyday sequins
Just because the holidays are over, doesn’t mean the curtains on sequins have been drawn. Find inspiration from TWP’s resort collection for a more casual look: layer a gray long-sleeved T-shirt under a gray sweater, throw on a tonal jacket, then pair with simple clogs and cashmere socks to keep warm on the commute.
