Toothpaste Dressing Is the Minty Fresh Trend We’re All-in On

Pistachios have had their moment. Tomatoes were there long before that. Then we had the buttery yellow brigade, which came to a halt when Hailey Bieber touted a “lemon tinny” for summer. What will be the seasonal changes in food-related color trends? The minty freshness comes in the form of a condiment, like a top shot of Colgate. We call it “toothpaste dressing.”

“I feel like a mermaid” love story Actor Sarah Pidgeon told Fashion She wore a cool-toned sequined slip from Matthieu Blazy’s Métiers d’art 2026 collection, which she wore to her first Oscars weekend. “This color! Like toothpaste…but super chic.” Dua Lipa, meanwhile, wore a floral teal dress by Roberto Cavalli with matching mint boots.

Mint green and light ice blue have been trying to break through for a while. In the spring and summer 2025 shows, mint green replaced blush as the current popular pastel color, using transparent layers and pastel-toned shapes. Fendi debuted gauzy organza dresses, while Chanel offered shimmering mint tweed suits and sheer ice-blue capes set against the botanical green of the Grand Palais. London-based Estonian designer Johanna Parv balances beauty and functionality in her sporty silhouettes and fabrics in lush aqua. For Fall 2025, muted tones break up the usually glam winter tones and inject a refreshing feel into heavy winter looks: this was reflected at Givenchy and Stella McCartney, who incorporated mint into structured silhouettes and paired them with brown and charcoal tailoring.

Then, in 2026, mint combines with emerald, moss and more minimalist plant tones to create a broader organic green color movement. Cool blues also made an appearance: Simone Rocha’s Spring 2026 debut featured frost-blue chiffon with floral and pearl embellishments, while Dior saw the hue play on ladylike silhouettes in architectural bubble dresses. Here, light tones provide designers with a canvas to play with tones and phases of femininity.

However, it is Chanel real Graphics on toothpaste tubes, mint pumps and bags in frothy tones, the color spread across cutout crochet skirts, fringed lace belts, bouclé dresses and tweed blazers. In a color palette of red, pink, gold and gray, mint gives a fresh and fun feel. The green heels were part of a wider craze that started when Matthieu Blazy debuted in a Chanel store. “I love the return of this fresh colorway, thanks to Blazy,” said writer Alice Betts. “Topping my wish list is a small Chanel tote, which adds the perfect pop of color and feels like a much-needed playful antidote or excitement.

Independent designers are breathing it all. “jazz [Mignone]Our creative director is obsessed with color,” says Hattie Tennant, founder of London-based lingerie and apparel brand Fruity Booty. “We always joke that she has very little to do with different colors. She definitely fell in love with mint this time last year and it took a while to get it done due to the design cycle, but it finally landed when we needed it. “
