This Iftar Dinner in New York City Served Up Orange Blossom Cake and Creative Inspiration

“This is an amazing community of women across so many industries, and the power is in building that community, leaning on each other, and giving back,” said Samina Virk, CEO and Chief Marketing Officer of Vestiaire Collective. “I feel so honored to be a part of this team and I’m excited to see what happens.”

Traumatic events in Iran, Palestine, Sudan and the Gulf left guests’ hearts racing, but with so many feeling isolated while watching the headlines, the focus was on supporting each other. “It’s a difficult time right now and we can all feel it,” Ishad said. “We must come together and use our collective power and influence to change the narrative.” Strangers quickly became friends as we chatted over pasta and grilled salmon. When dessert arrived – a cloud-like date cake with notes of orange blossom and cardamom – sparks of collaboration flew.
