This Couple Married Surrounded by Hundreds of Blooming Rose Bushes at Their Montecito Wedding

Scott Kellman first accessed Allison Taylor’s DMs during the pandemic. “Instagram had never appealed to him, but he decided to download it in an effort to showcase himself,” recalls Allison, co-founder of the popular skin-care brand Le Prunier. “I was living in Los Angeles and he was in New York.”

A close mutual friend, Lauren Taylor, vouched for Allison when she sought information from him, and after six months of long-distance texts and phone calls, they finally decided to meet up somewhere in the middle. Aspen is the established midpoint.

“I stayed at the St. Regis, which ended up being the location of our first date,” Allison recalled. “We met in the lobby for drinks, sat by the fire and talked for a few hours, and I think we all understood immediately. What was supposed to be a three-day trip turned into a full week.”

Scott likes to joke with Alison that he booked the proposal exactly three months after meeting her, but showed admirable strength by waiting a year before proposing. “Early on in our relationship, he took me on a date to the Pinecreek Cookhouse — we snowshoeed a few miles to the restaurant, under the clearest night sky, and I remember telling him I’d never seen so many stars,” Allison said. “It’s so beautiful.” Cut to a year after they met, Scott got down on one knee and proposed on the same road. When they arrived at the restaurant, he managed to gather 40 of their closest people from around the world to surprise Alison. “I was so shocked,” she recalled. “The night was incredibly fun and memorable.”

Their wedding took place on September 13, 2026 in Montecito, California. The festivities began Friday night at Belos Guardo, a historic estate overlooking the Santa Barbara coastline. “Our dear friend Lily Hahn Shining had just completed renovations to the hotel’s greenhouse and generously provided the venue for tonight,” Allison explained. “We love that it feels like we’re somewhere in the south of France – without the nine-hour flight.”

Saturday’s wedding took place at Rancho San Ysidro in Montecito. “When we first met, Scott had never done a formal California road trip, so we drove up the coast and I suggested a few stops — Rancho San Ysidro being one of them,” Allison explains. “We had dinner on the lower terrace under the bougainvillea and he fell instantly in love. We had even discussed getting married there, so it felt great to finally come back and celebrate our marriage.”

The planning process was a journey with some unexpected delays along the way, but once they were introduced to event planners Smith & James, everything ran smoothly. “It was an absolute dream to work with them and they did a fantastic job bringing our vision to life,” Allison said. Their ultimate goal is for guests to enjoy themselves and feel completely taken care of throughout the entire weekend. “As someone who grew up never spending much time imagining what my wedding would be like, this weekend felt so perfect us”, notes Alison, “elegant, authentic, a little earthy, and filled with love. This is better than we thought. “
