Armani’s glow-in-the-dark silk foundation has been a fixture on the red carpet for decades, and stars toasted the foundation’s glow with a celebration at The Grove on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The party, held in a striking two-story space, also served as a preview of what locals will experience this weekend, as Armani Beauty opened a Luminous Silk pop-up store in the same location. Guests entering the venue were first greeted by an art installation that featured silks moving through the air, each piece echoing a different skin tone, providing a visual nod to the foundation’s expanded tonal range.
Photographers quickly turned the installation into the first photo moment of the night, lining up to take photos before VIPs entered. Inside, the crowd moved back and forth between the two floors, stopping to take photos, drink cocktails and have a quick chat. Dakota Fanning, Jurnee Smollett, Ali Larter, Justine Lupe, Natasha Lyonne and True Whitaker were all in attendance, as well as the newly successful François Arnaud. fierce competition, and Andra Day, who later performed at the “Luminous Lounge” upstairs.
Cocktails followed as the waiter delivered mini tacos, bruschetta and melon caprese.
