As anyone who has ever had the discomfort of dying their hair improperly or accidentally having it too short can attest, hair is “just hair” and, no Just hair. Yes, it will grow back, and no cut or color will create a truly permanent beauty change. At the same time, most of us have some sort of emotional or deeper meaning to our hair—imagine the sense of loss we feel when we’re forced to chop it off after years of heat styling, or the confidence a new set of bangs can bring.
Whether the same is true for celebrities, we can’t say for sure, celebrities change their looks more frequently than the rest of us change out our Brita water filters. With access to wigs, weaves, extensions, and industry-leading professionals whose skills are nothing short of magical, they try out more new styles in a year than many of us try in a lifetime. What we do know is that their transformation provides ample inspiration for our own transformation.
From subtle yet major changes like Amal Clooney’s (relatively) big haircut to dramatic overhauls like Timothée Chalamet’s shockingly trendy hairstyle, these are the biggest celebrity beauty transformations of 2025.
