Bangkok – Anutin Charnvirakul declared victory and thanked Thai voters for their support of the Bhumjaithai Party after early vote counts showed the party ahead.
Anutin said that although the official number of MPs has not been confirmed, observations from various quarters indicate that Bumjetai is likely to top the list of MPs in Sunday’s election. He called it a victory for those who wanted Bhumjaithai to govern the country and resolve long-standing problems.
He said that the party accepts the expectations of voters, will govern with integrity, maintain democracy with the king as the head of state, and congratulated members of all parties who have won public trust.
When asked which party Bhumjaithai will join forces with next, Anutin did not give a direct answer. He said there was still time and he would first hold a meeting with the party’s executive committee and wait for the numbers to stabilize.
