Tate McCray found out her first Grammy nomination was none other than her mother. The singer is nominated tonight for Best Dance-Pop Recording for “Just Keep Watching.” F1 movie, narration Fashion: “I woke up getting ready for my penultimate show and the first text I saw was from my mom: ‘Good morning my Grammy-nominated artist.’ It was honestly so cute. It was just the icing on the cake of an already crazy year.”
While the 2026 Grammy Awards and her first nomination have entered nerve-wracking territory, McRae rose to the occasion wearing custom Balenciaga by Pierpaolo Piccioli. “For my first Grammy, I wanted something with structure and edge, with a lot of detail,” McRae told Fashion ahead of the Grammys. “I’ve long admired Pierpaolo’s work, so to be able to create a bespoke look together for an occasion like this was a dream.”

McRae channeled Old Hollywood glamor as she hit the carpet in a black, turtleneck, strapless dress. The bodice fans out to create a dramatic train, while the petticoat of the dress is embellished with a layer of long, pointed black petals—an unforgettable pattern from Piccioli’s debut collection for Balenciaga for Spring 2026.
Sister styling duo and pop stars Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo continue the retro appeal of McRae accessories. Piccioli looked back to her Cristóbal Balenciaga days with a pair of black evening gloves and a custom clutch. McRae upped the ante further with black crepe satin Christian Louboutin slingbacks and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
For McCree, she started So you think you can dance As a child, this moment was the culmination of years of hard work. “I feel like it’s going to be exactly what I always imagined it would be,” she said. “You spend your whole life quietly dreaming about moments like this, and somehow, when they finally arrive, they look an awful lot like the vision you had when you were younger. There’s something very special about that – watching a dream grow with you and then meeting it again in real life.”
