La Compagnie Flatiron is the Experimental Group’s newest hotel (located behind the Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels in SoHo and the original La Compagnie Saint Germain in Paris), giving your date night a French flair. You can choose from hundreds of bottles of wine from small producers, paired with a menu of grilled meats, sustainable seafood and local vegetables. Designer Dorothée Meilichzon is behind the stylish interiors, which are based on New York brick walls and original parquet floors.

Spacious? No. Affectionate and cozy? Yes. Nestled on one of the best corners of the West Village, this restaurant is known for its reliably delicious dishes and neighborhood feel. While brunch tends to draw a crowd, you can also come here for a romantic dinner and order the fried chicken with lemon, garlic, shallots and sage.
