Rihanna Updates Her Favorite (And Most Divisive) Bag in Paris

Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and their families returned to Paris for the weekend. Heading to Siena (one of Rihanna’s dinner spots in the city), she brought the latest addition to her enviable handbag archives.

The Fenty Beauty mogul opted for a head-to-toe crimson look: She wore a distressed vintage Margiela Fall 2000 tunic, a pair of Alaïa cotton cargo pants and Tom Ford snake-finish burgundy pumps. When in the City of Light, Rih always carries something from Dior. This time, the debut item is a saddle bag with a Dracula pattern. Add statement accessories to contrast the all-blood look and make it feel thoughtful, fun and playful.

Following the launch of Jonathan Anderson’s first collection for Dior, the Dracula book tote became the most popular bag among celebrities, with its literary style embraced by Jennifer Lawrence, Greta Lee and Natalie Portman. Other versions include the Les Liaisons Dangereuses bag, but the ginger and scarlet Dracula bag has proven to be the most popular. The saddle bag version (a shape that was often reinvented and popularized during John Galliano’s tenure) is less eye-catching, but Rihanna has dubbed it her seasonal it-bag. With its shocking colors and loud, telegraphic style, it’s definitely one of the most controversial bags out there—but of course, on Rihanna, it always works.
