Footless tights get a bad rap. For most people, they sit alongside Abercrombie’s denim miniskirts and Topshop bras. Slowly, slowly, we’re seeing the return of 2016-era fashion, so it’s only a matter of time. Rihanna made a pretty good case for their higher returns.

It’s totally appropriate for Rih, who recently debuted a mid-’10s-inspired look paired with leggings, a blazer and pointy-toe heels. She loves statement shoes (usually by Amina Muaddi or Balenciaga), so footless stockings allow them to shine without any heavy extra layers.
