Rebecca Rittenhouse Married Kyle Robiskie at the Same Pasadena Church Where Her Parents Wed 40 Years Prior

The bar at San Vicente Bungalows was the setting for a cute gathering in Los Angeles between actor, producer and Privet Beauty founder Rebecca Rittenhouse and venture capitalist Kyle Robiskie. “My friend Kelly Taylor—he’s rare in town and rare “She made plans ahead of time and asked me to go there for dinner with about an hour’s notice,” Rebecca recalls. “I ran into her organically and we noticed there was a karaoke party going on and we decided to go. Since it was a members’ club and it’s a small world, we ended up getting to know the person whose birthday it was and decided to hang out and catch up with some friends.”

A few minutes later, Kyle walked in. “I think he’s super cute,” Rebecca admitted. “So I basically just stared at him until he came up and talked to me, which took a while! Apparently, he thought I was there with another guy. He offered to buy me a drink and we sat on the patio and talked until I lied to him and said I had a friend coming into town that night. To be honest, I was working on a new show a few days later and wanted to take a break!” Before going their separate ways, they planned a first date for the following weekend.

Exactly two years later, Kyle proposed at the same place they met. “He reenacted the first night and even asked Kelly to take me to dinner so he could surprise me,” Rebecca recalled. After the proposal, Kyle planned a surprise engagement party on Bird Street in the Hollywood Hills. “He said he wanted to gather as many people as possible and have them all wait for us,” Rebecca explained. “I was really late that night and I think people were starting to worry that things might go pear-shaped, but I honestly just couldn’t decide what to wear.”

Two years and two months later, the wedding took place in Pasadena, where Rebecca grew up. The ceremony was held in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church, with a reception following at the home of the bride’s father. “My parents actually got married in the same church,” Rebecca said. “Given that my mother passed away in 2019, it felt like a great way to keep her company in spirit.”

In the lead-up to their wedding, Rebecca and Kyle were pretty relaxed in their planning. “I definitely put the most effort into my wardrobe,” she admits. “I started looking in Los Angeles, but eventually, I went to New York during the bridal market and I ended up getting all the New York looks.”

She worked with Amsale to create two custom looks, one for her rehearsal dinner and one for her welcome party, both held at the Bird Street Club where they had a surprise engagement party. “Sarah Swann and Michael Cho at Amsale are the most thoughtful and lovely people and I highly recommend working with them,” said Rebecca. “The eyelash jacquard fabric on the hem of my rehearsal evening gown was a fabric I had never seen before, and the chiffon flowers were all hand-applied to my floral gown—I think it’s incredibly modern and classic at the same time.” Rebecca wore jewelry from Maison Merenor to the rehearsal dinner and welcome party, as well as many vintage pieces from David Webb, which added an unexpected element of drama to the look.
