Our Favorite Runway Shows of 2025

Diotima, Spring 2026 ready-to-wear

Rachel Scott’s performances on Diotima have been my favorites every season, and her September debut is no exception. As always, this season’s designs are inspired by carnival and feel sexy yet extremely wearable. From a scoop neck top paired with a ruffled skirt (the gray and hot pink combo is a highlight) to a mustard green feathered skirt, I can just imagine how all of these pieces would look. Scott even sold me the dress. “This is a moment of resistance rooted in energy, joy and sensuality, against any form of domination,” she told Laia Garcia-Furtado before the show. This is the fresh air we need.

The collection’s red carpet appearances – with appearances from stars like Greta Lee and Britt Lower – prove beyond a doubt that the clothes look just as good in real life as they do on the runway. Now, I’m eagerly awaiting Scott’s Diotima show in February and her first official collection for Proenza Schouler. (We got a glimpse of it in September, and judging by that, it’s going to be good.) —Maddie Schulz

In 2025, we’ve already seen a few debuts. It’s one thing to wow the crowd with an opening salvo, but to captivate us again and again, year after year – well, only the best can do that. Rick Owens is definitely the best of them all. ——Nicole Phelps
