This weekend marks Rihanna’s 38th birthday: a multi-million dollar beauty business, eight studio albums, and endless great fashion choices. Rih chose some special vintage Gucci to celebrate her 38th birthday.
The pop star and mogul stepped out for dinner with her partner A$AP Rocky — where else? — but their favorite Santa Monica red sauce shop is Giorgio Baldi. From the Merc to the maître d’, Rihanna has been showing off some of her best looks here over the years: an understated Alaia, a Balenciaga suit, a set of retro bags and Amina Muaddi shoes. For her birthday party, Rihanna chose a furry vintage Gucci 1999 cropped coat, trimmed with different stripes of fur that turned up to the elbows and featured a tiger stripe print. Below, she wore a long, form-fitting, sheer black dress with barely there black heels that revealed her neon green pedicure. Charming is quintessentially radiant, and she wears her hair long and curly.
A$AP Rocky wore a red plaid button-down shirt with cream trousers, black loafers and dark Ray-Ban sunglasses.
The couple’s date night seemed relatively laid-back: Giorgio Baldi is both Rihanna’s favorite restaurant and her most frequented runway.

Even though Rihanna is originally from Barbados, she really makes a statement with her glamorous winter looks, from double denim to a variety of animal prints and all-over AWGE. When paired with Loki, they are unstoppable. Case in point: their recent Valentine’s Day dinner, when the couple dressed in their finest leathers and headed to New York’s Michelin-starred seafood restaurant Caviar Russe.
Vintage gems, like this Gucci 1999 piece, are also typical of Rihanna’s style genre, from archival accessories and couture, to Chanel faux fur jackets, retro sweatshirts or Dior saddle bags from the Galliano era.
