Getting ready together has become second nature to the longtime friends, who dress up together before premieres, nights out, and even Marissa’s wedding. Now, their daily routine is down to a science. “I think I spent longer in the preparation department than Myha’la – makeup, hair, clothes, all of that was mine. But the overall ceremony with Myha’la was longer: matcha, music, making the video, taking photos,” Marisa explains. “So when we prepare together, we either balance each other out or it takes twice as long…”
So what’s on the GRWM playlist? “We were really feeling Robyn today! I played ‘Show Me Love’ from her 1995 album twice,” Myha’la said. “Incredible feel-good, hopeful vibes to keep us motivated before facing the rain!”
Apparently, the combination of sushi and Robin is enough. After posing for photos on the pier, the two took their seats on the runway and quickly selected their favorite pieces. “We both love that light fur coat with the embellished bottom, it’s crazy,” Marissa said. “I think Mihara’s eyes like that would kill people.” At the same time, Mihara’s eyes fell on the shoes. “I think there’s a general fear of making really sexy shoes,” she says. “The first shoe to hit the runway was a very tall dusty pink pump with decorative hardware and sexy little Mary Jane straps. It had me hooked!”
