Moncler Names Bartolomeo Rongone as Group CEO

Moncler Group has appointed a new chief executive. Bartolomeo Rongone is leaving Bottega Veneta and will join the company on April 1. Moncler Group said on Tuesday that Remo Ruffini will move from chief executive to executive chairman.

As Executive Chairman, Ruffini will continue to be responsible for the creative direction of Moncler and will continue to play a major role in governance and setting the strategic direction of the Group. The company said the decision is part of a governance evolution process that will allow the Moncler Group to operate more smoothly while pursuing growth.

“We have made a forward-looking decision that I consider to be a natural evolution of our company’s organization and taking into account possible future generational successions,” Ruffini said in a statement. “Moncler has continued to expand its horizons and grow over the years and today operates in an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving environment. Therefore, we have decided to strengthen our structure in order to consolidate the foundations we have established and provide the best support for the new phase of development.”

Rongone will join Moncler from Bottega Veneta, where he has worked for six years. Prior to that, he served as COO at Saint Laurent and COO at Fendi, a subsidiary of LVMH. “I take on this new role with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility,” he said in a statement. “I will work with Remo and the entire management team with commitment and enthusiasm to lead the company and its brands to new levels of achievement, fully respecting the authentic values that have defined its identity and strength over the years.”

Moncler also announced that Roberto Eggs will resign as chief commercial officer and global marketing officer on March 1 to start a new career chapter. He will remain on the Moncler Group Board of Directors.

Previously, Moncler Group withstood the test of the ongoing slowdown in the luxury goods industry, with the company’s revenue falling by 1% in the past two quarters. The brand confirmed in October that it would not hold a Genius event in 2026 for the first time in seven years (except in 2022), as executives encouraged investors to take a more holistic view of Moncler’s marketing efforts. The Moncler brand is currently preparing for its Aspen fashion show to be held on January 31, which is consistent with the brand’s focus on the US market in the coming year.

“I will be working alongside Leo and I immediately feel a strong fit with his values and vision to make the organization stronger, more agile and ready to seize new opportunities,” continued Ruffini. “With Leo at my side, I will continue to lead the strategic vision, ensuring consistency and continuity, confident that his knowledge of the luxury world and customer-centric approach will make a decisive contribution to our future journey.”
