New Delhi – Members of Vishva Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations staged a protest near the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi today against atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and the mob lynching of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das. On their way to the High Commission, the VHP members were stopped by security forces. In response, protesters clashed with security forces and broke through barricades outside the Bangladesh High Commission. Heavy security was deployed in the area in view of the protests.
Some members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and other Hindu organizations were detained by police near the Bangladesh High Commission after clashes broke out between protesters and police.
Besides, members of Sarbo Bharatiya Hindi Bangali Sangathan and Bajrang Dal are holding demonstrations against the brutal mob lynching incident near Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro station.
Bangladesh summons Indian high commissioner
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh summoned Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma today to express his attention to the protests in New Delhi.
“Bangladesh condemns such premeditated acts of violence or intimidation against diplomatic institutions, which not only endanger the safety of diplomatic personnel but also undermine the principle of mutual respect and the values of peace and tolerance,” the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
“The Bangladesh government calls on the Indian government to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, take all necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such acts, and ensure the safety of Bangladeshi diplomatic missions in India and related facilities,” the statement said.
These incidents include vandalism at the Bangladesh Visa Center in Siliguri on December 22, 2025, and protests outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on December 20, 2025.
Dipu Chandra Das killed in Mymensingh
Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu youth, was allegedly killed on December 18 in Mymensingh. According to reports, Das was beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of blasphemy and his body was burned.
The incident sparked widespread outrage and led to law and order chaos in Bangladesh.
