In this Mané Mané collection, full of playful, colorful and sinuous looks, Creative Director Miguel Becer expresses a desire to escape – a pursuit of a lighter, more compassionate way of living, one that flirts with even the tenderest side of frivolity. To do this, he stripped away the weight of traditionally heavy pieces—the coats were left with just the lining—and redesigned shirts without backs or front sleeves, turning leftover fabric into unexpected, clever details.
Rather than relying on layering, Becer joins the upper and lower pieces with a central seam so that the lighter top can lift and support the heavier bottom, creating an elegant interplay of proportions. To achieve this effect, the fabric is waxed, injected with resin, and finally stretched.
The waist is blurred, suggesting an effortless silhouette rather than refined sophistication. Mané The Mané woman doesn’t shy away from classic fabrics—Prince of Wales check or shirt-striped cotton—but she doesn’t care about conventional notions of good taste or modesty. Witness the forks and spoons protruding from the black boots, a collaboration with Hune.
