Lily Collins Recovers Her Engagement Ring Three Years After It Was Stolen

Losing an engagement ring is a very real nightmare—maybe it slipped off your finger or you left it by the public restroom sink. Or, like Lily Collins, you experience the fear of it being stolen. But Collins has something to celebrate, having successfully recovered her ring three years after it was stolen.

I’m still speechless [that] It’s back in my fingers. Collins’ ring is a “one-of-a-kind rose-cut diamond” designed by Irene Neuwirth and is worth more than $80,000.

Collins announced her engagement to writer-director Charlie McDowell in September 2020 during a trip to Mexico. They were married in September 2021 in Dunton Springs, Colorado. She wore a long-sleeve hooded lace gown by Ralph Lauren.

In the years that followed, they welcomed a daughter, Tove Jane McDowell.

In May 2023, the actor’s engagement ring, wedding band and electronic devices were stolen from a locker at the West Hollywood EDITION hotel spa. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department investigated the theft at the time, but to no avail.

Collins did not reveal any specific details about how the ring was found, but credited Joe, a downtown Chicago jeweler, with returning it to her.
