Kate Middleton Makes Her First Appearance of 2026 in a Favorite Shade

The Princess of Wales is back at work today, appearing alongside Prince William at London’s Charing Cross Hospital. For the occasion, Kate turned to her go-to ensemble, re-wearing a Roland Mouret burgundy suit she’s worn numerous times in the past, including on a visit to Boston in 2022 and for the Shape Us event workshop in 2023.

This time, the royal paired her sharp tailoring with a tonal bow shirt from Me+Em, a chocolate brown suede Hudson bag from DeMellier, matching Gianvito Rossi pumps, and Cartier Trinity earrings. In many ways, the outfit mirrors Kate’s everyday royal uniform, including the kind of hard-working staples she wears in rotation.

Still, the princess has recently shown that she’s not afraid to add more trend-setting pieces to her wardrobe. Take, for example, her small Hudson bag, which she debuted during a visit to the Anna Freud Center in November and brought back on Christmas Day, paired with a brown plaid jacket from Blazé Milano. As the magazine points out, chocolate brown accessories are everywhere this season, from the runway to the sidewalk.

Coincidentally, burgundy is also on trend right now, with the color appearing in fall 2025 collections from brands like Saint Laurent, Prada, Burberry and Max Mara. It just goes to show: if you leave something in your closet long enough, it will eventually become popular again.
