When Kate Middleton-Catherine, Princess of Wales, stepped out on the BAFTA red carpet on Sunday night, she revisited a dress from her own collection: a dusty-pink Gucci custom dress she wore to the Women in Finance Gala in 2019.
Of course, the royal also has a knack for re-wearing pieces from her own wardrobe, earning the nickname “Frugal Kate” shortly after marrying Prince William in 2011. So it’s no surprise that the Princess turned once again to her old wardrobe during a visit to Powys, Wales, on St. David’s Day.
For the occasion, Kate re-wore the burgundy Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton coat that she debuted during her 2024 state visit to Qatar, along with a matching Me+Em pussy-bow blouse and Gianvito Rossi knee-high boots—both pieces she’s photographed in the past, both of which are straight out of Kate Middleton’s fashion style.
Burgundy has become the princess’s color of choice, and she also appeared in the color from head to toe at London’s Charing Cross Hospital with the Prince of Wales in January. Although Kate tends to take an off-trend approach to fashion, as shown by her penchant for re-dressing over the years, it happens to be one of this season’s trending colors.
