Kate Hudson didn’t know what she would wear to the 2026 Oscars until earlier today. “I didn’t want to take any risks on the day that I wanted to feel comfortable,” she told Fashion before the ceremony. “It’s very important to me that I feel like I won’t have any outfit anxiety.”
To overcome her nerves, Hudson – who was nominated for best actress for her performance in the film Song Shenglan— called on a brand she knew she could trust. “I wanted to work with people that I had a relationship with and that I knew would show up, and Armani did that in such a beautiful way,” she said. “Their craftsmanship is incredible and They gave me a choice. “
The actor donned a bejeweled emerald green gown with a sweetheart neckline and ruffles from the Armani Privé Spring 2026 collection.
Although Hudson didn’t make her final decision until the day of the Oscars, she had some criteria: “I wanted a really beautiful silhouette on the carpet, I wanted it to feel nice and held, I wanted it to feel elegant, and I wanted it to feel bright and colorful,” she said. Essentially: “I want to feel like I’m breathing.”
Even though Hudson has been attending the awards show since last year, she wants her outfit to be indicative of what’s coming next, not what she’s leaving behind. “I wanted it to feel new—like the beginning of creation, not the end,” she said. “I think these moments feel like the last part of this experience, and they really are. But for me, energetically, I want it to feel like the beginning of a new chapter.”
