Last week, I ditched the cold winter in New York and headed to Los Angeles for a few sunny days. A welcome highlight of the trip was a visit to Revolve’s new brick-and-mortar store in The Grove—perfectly located between Erewhon and AMC (it doesn’t get much better than this in LA). Within the spacious two-story space, built around a grand staircase, shelves stocked with structured suits, distressed jeans and effortless essentials immediately set the tone for a quintessential Los Angeles wardrobe.

The real treat, however, was the preview of Revolve Los Angeles, the retailer’s first eponymous brand, which launched on March 9. The collection, which stars brand ambassador Bella Hadid, who stars in the campaign, marks a new chapter for the retailer. After more than two decades of championing designers, Revolve is establishing its identity with a collection that is clearly rooted in its customers’ lifestyles. As the brand notes in a press release, Revolve has spent years studying “how women dress in real moments, in confident situations.” This insight is expressed through a collection of elevated classics and statement pieces—from sharp tailoring to croc-embossed separates and sleek evening gowns—each embodying the city’s blend of old Hollywood glamor and the relaxed vibe of modern Los Angeles. Available in sizes XXS to XL and priced from $200 to $3,500, the collection is perfect for anyone who wants to channel the spirit of the Los Angeles woman.

Easy to cut

The quintessential Los Angeles woman wants a look that can flow seamlessly from shopping in Melrose to lunch at Giorgio Baldi’s establishment in Santa Monica. Revolve’s tailored pieces provide the ideal basis for everyday dressing. A crisp suit jacket and trousers paired with pointed high heels give a business vibe, while the slightly loose silhouette makes the look relaxed. For a more laid-back moment, like sipping an iced latte at the Beverly Hills Hotel, tailored trousers or shorts paired with a simple T-shirt and a short trench coat are both stylish and effortless.
