Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Debut Show in Paris Draws on European Art

An expected Paris show showcases Dior’s latest men’s series, which will be released in 2026, is the first design of former Loewe’s Jonathan Anderson Direction, which has a subtle nod to European art and culture.

Dior introduces the latest men’s collection on Invalides, a museum complex centered on French military history that uses large black and white images of the original Christian Dior salon as the background. The exhibition is scattered across the entrances and is intended to demonstrate the historic connection between the 80-year-old brand and French culture.

sleepy It is also noted that the stage of the exhibition is intended to mimic the visual effects of the old museum exhibitions, which use Velvet as wallpaper, including the Gemäldegalerie Gallery in Berlin and the Frick Collection in New York, both holding European art collections.

The Paris performance draws from this design choice, covering the interior walls of the Invalides, with off-white velvet on them and hanging two paintings by the 18th-century French still life artist Jeanséon Chardin, which were borrowed from the National Gallery of Scotland and the Louvre.

Before its first show, Anderson’s artistic references were leaking online. Earlier this month Dior posted a sub-photo of Anderson’s “Emotional Council” famous social and artistic franchise: a separate photo taken by American-European princesses and fixtures in the aristocratic circles and the painter Jean Michel-Basquiat, both Andy Warhol.

Radizwill’s connection to Dior’s history began in the 1960s, and the then-created director of the record company Marc Bohan regarded her as Muse. (A 1977 silk robe designed by Bohan, presented by Radizwill, in the Metropolitan Collection.)

Anderson’s first female collection will be presented in September.
