In emails released by the Justice Department in January, Jeffrey Epstein bragged to his friends that he had secured a private tour of Paris’s Musée d’Orsay with filmmaker Woody Allen.
On March 18, 2012, Epstein wrote to a recipient who called himself “junkermann”, “Are you in Paris? The government will open the Dolce Museum at 4 o’clock for me and the wooden alien… You are welcome.” The recipient was German entrepreneur Nicole Junkermann, who appeared in Epstein’s emails many times. She replied: “Cool, I’m in Brussels today.”
Epstein also sent a similar message to Italian businessman Eduardo Teodorani; Epstein urged Teodorani to bring his wife.
The messages were sent on Sunday. The Musée d’Orsay is Paris’ top art museum of the 19th century and is closed to the public every Monday.
After this apparent visit, Epstein subsequently emailed others to let them know he had entered the museum with Allen. “As Borat would say… ‘King of the Castle’ :),” Epstein’s ex-girlfriend Eva Dubin wrote back.
The visit also appears to have sparked lewd thoughts in Epstein. Epstein appeared to be referencing Edgar Degas’ nude female bathing and dancing sculptures that are often on display at the Musée d’Orsay, writing in a letter to Dutch model Yfke Sturm, “How crazy that they opened the Musée d’Orsay just for me and Woody… We had a great time. Think of your naked ass on all fours, though. Especially since Degas painted so many women.”
A spokesman for the Musée d’Orsay did not respond to a request for comment.
