Inside Olympians Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield’s “Magical” Georgia Wedding

Although Olympians Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield competed in the same track and field events as youngsters, the pair didn’t officially connect until they posted a message on Instagram in 2018. Noah told us Fashion, “Junelle decided to slip into my DMs and ask me a question, ‘Can you cook?’ From there, it became a seven-year long story where we ended up meeting, falling in love, being able to be together, not being able to be together, and then eventually getting into a relationship that we’ve been together ever since, and now we’re married.”

By 2024, Noah knew he was ready to pop the question. That summer, he designed a ring and began planning a special proposal that would bring all their friends together for the momentous occasion. “I knew it had to be a surprise because Juneelle told me before that I’m not good at planning surprises,” the runner joked. He usually plans an end-of-year celebration trip with friends, so he decided to use it as a cover-up engagement party. “It wasn’t until we had dinner before the actual proposal that she figured it out,” he recalled. One of the guests was unaware of the impending proposal and only overheard that it was about to happen. “Then she left the table crying and went to the bathroom,” Noah said. “Journal followed in to comfort her, and the friend decided to tell Junell, ‘Get ready for tonight.'” That was all Junell needed to put it all together. “When they returned to their Airbnb after dinner, a giant flower heart and fireworks were ready in the backyard. Noah then proposed to Juneelle, joining their closest circle. “Afterwards, we went to the club where we had a wonderful, really, really fun night,” he said.

The couple decided to tie the knot on April 4, 2026 at Blackberry Ridge Greenhouse in Trenton, Georgia. Junelle said planning the wedding was easy with her planners, Rebecca Lang and Noah of L3 Events. “Usually what I do is confirm ideas and maybe offer my input here and there,” she said. Noah said it was a little difficult for him. “I discovered that I’m better at planning than I thought,” he said. “I consider myself a bit like an artistic director.” One of the biggest challenges in planning was understanding the cultural differences between weddings in the United States and Juneelle’s native Jamaica. He also said there were some surprises when developing the budget, especially when smaller projects started to ramp up. “I want to thank God for Rebecca,” the runner said. “We had a lot of interest from different companies and people, all very skilled and at the top of their game, providing us with services we never expected. We were very lucky.”

The wedding’s theme was “All Shades of Melanin,” and the fashion world followed suit. For the red carpet, Junelle wanted a “clean regal look” in a Pantora Bridal ballgown, which featured jewels and asymmetrical straps. “The owner is Jamaican and I wanted to support another black woman in my community,” she said. Later in the evening, she would change her gown into a lace minidress with a tulle train for prom. Pantora Bridal also made sparkly brown bridesmaid dresses for her wedding. “They’re beautiful,” the bride said. “My daughters were also the first to wear it.”
