I Very Much Want What They Have: Aidy Bryant and Conner O’Malley

Love is a wonderful thing, especially when you look at it from the outside. In this column, we look at the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures, while we try to make sense of our own from their well-documented relationships.

I’ll be the first to admit that when I claim to want something a particular couple has (the raison d’être of this column), what I actually mean many times is that I’m obsessed with one component of it. (The other guy… was there, too.) Today’s installment, however, is something very different: My broken bisexual heart is drawn to the pairing of Aidy Bryant and Connor O’Malley for their admirably understated romance and Because I’m totally in love with both of them.

O’Malley is an actor whose credits include Broad City and I think you should leave with Tim Robinson and three-time WGA Award-nominated writer Late Night with Seth Meyersmet his ex saturday night live and sharp In 2008, Kobe married star Kobe Bryant. The couple got engaged in 2016 (O’Malley wore a bow tie for their dog for the occasion) and married in 2018.

Much has been made of late about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Caroline Bessette-Kennedy’s lack of a “swag gap” (uncommon for heterosexual couples, in which one person (usually the woman) usually steals the spotlight than the other). But I’d like to point out Kobe and O’Malley as another example of a perfect pairing. Both men’s comedy had me laughing until I cried – Bryant’s “Dyke & Fats” saturday night live Sketch and O’Malley with his Standing solution Special. I can only imagine what it would be like to be in the presence of both of them at the same time – in fact, I hope this never happens to me, as I would quickly become very weird and hyper-social and probably alienate both of them.

One of the coolest things about Kobe and O’Malley only emerged to me when I was searching Google for photos of Kobe and O’Malley together to find the story you’re reading. Facts have proved that there are yes There are no photos of them together—at least not from Getty—even though they have been married for nearly a decade. In this age of online overexposure, this is somewhat surprising. I don’t know if these two are about to have a comedy project together, or if they prefer to keep their work lives separate, but… why don’t they have a loosely scripted prestige streaming sitcom yet?
