Rocha’s latest fall ’26 menswear debuted at last month’s London women’s show. There, she debuted a new collaboration with Adidas, which, perhaps tellingly, is exclusive to women. She also refers to the seminal 1999 work pony kid Shot by photographer Perry Ogden, who attended the Rocha Fall ’23 show.
Rocha said: “Reference pony kid This has to do with the way I quoted Louise Bourgeois. These inherent things recur, representing femininity and masculinity, or innocence, or playfulness, or eccentricity, or whatever it is. “
Finding the right venue for your menswear debut requires an in-depth exploration of the best palaces, villas and parks of a city that has specialized in beauty production since the birth of the Renaissance. “There’s an embarrassment of wealth to choose from,” Rocha said. “I wanted to do a show that, even though it was in Florence, felt like a Simone show, in its own world. So I chose a more remote location and I really liked the idea.”
Although her work exists in its own often dreamy world, Rocha hints that in her upcoming series, that world may still be emphasized for its particular setting. “Florence is beautiful, I have always loved it Room with viewone of my favorite Trader Ivory movies. So it’s fun to play. How do you contextualize that, make it modern, and bring it into this idea that I’ve been thinking about for a new men’s Simon uniform? “
