Hudson Williams Celebrated His Birthday on the Dance Floor at Gold House’s Epic Lunar New Year Party

“The past few months have been crazy, but I’m so grateful that my mom is here with me tonight so we can celebrate the New Year together,” fierce competition hudson williams tells Fashion Golden House’s first Chinese New Year celebration. “I love spending time with my mom. She’s the best date.”

As he approaches his 25th birthday, the breakout star joins Bridgerton’s The latest heroine Ha Ye-rin, and saturday night live Alumnus Bowen Yang will co-host the celebration at Chinese Tuxedo before the official start of the Year of the Horse on February 17.

The multi-level space, which once housed New York City’s first Chinese theater, is filled with red paper lanterns and fringed fish-shaped ornaments suspended from the ceiling to ward off evil spirits and bring good harvests for the new year. More than 200 guests from the Asian American and Pacific Islander community dressed up to celebrate, feasting on yakitori, oysters, spring rolls and custom Hennessy cocktails.

“My favorite part of New Year’s is the food,” laughs her way through the party. “I’m Korean, and I love eating traditional New Year rice cake soup. I also love sweet rice cakes, and anything my family makes from scratch, like seaweed soup. Food is a big part of my culture and identity.” Accompanied by Williams, Ha then delivered a speech about the importance of heritage and wished everyone a happy and prosperous new year in Korean.

As the party unfolded, attendees were fascinated by Williams. And wherever he went, the crowd followed. The actor graciously accommodated every selfie request and took the time to socialize with fans before setting his sights on the dance floor.

Williams was the first to take off his jacket and get the crowd moving.
