The term “uniform dressing” has become cliche now, but a quick scroll through the feed (and a glance at Hailey Bieber’s street looks) confirms that numbers still feel comfortable when it comes to copy-pasting your wardrobe. One of the most dominant factions that refuses to die? The Clean Girls’ minimalist aesthetic is built on simple basics, with a preference for Blank Street matcha or pale pink Stanley cups.
Their high priestess, riding non-stop in an athleisure tank top and tiny sunglasses, is of course Hailey Bieber. No one epitomizes LA girl style like Erewhon. Hailey Bieber’s daytime attire tends to follow a tried-and-true formula: straight-leg jeans, a waitlisted Tank Air top or Cou Cou Intimates, and most recently, a pair of relatively practical heels, presumably helped by the relaxed pace of life that comes with living within a short chauffeur service of Nobu Malibu. Bieber, who ditched anything too spindly or skyscraper-y for coffee in Los Angeles, looked light on her feet and ready to fend off the hordes of influencers at the smoothie bar.

There’s a lot to be said for the transformative power of shoes. A simple, walkable heel can elevate jeans and a tank top from off-the-beaten-path style to street style mood board status. Personally, I never get tired of the “boring clothes, fun shoes” equation, which is the perfect entry point for whimsy and practical outfits. Other styles include a fun skirt paired with a distressed T-shirt, or Brandy Melville’s basics paired with radical A-list sunglasses. With Mrs. Bieber paving the way, expect her disciples to ditch their Pilates socks and tiny Uggs in favor of modest 3cm heels any day now.
