Final day of campaigning sees rallies by top leaders across Dhaka

Dhaka – As the election campaign entered its final day today, Dhaka witnessed a rally of senior leaders of major political parties, causing traffic jams in parts of the capital.

Thousands of supporters attended the events, chanting slogans and holding placards.

BNP president Tarique Rahman participated in the rally held at Kamal Ataturk Avenue playground and Kalabagan Krirachakro Club playground in Dhaka-17 constituency.

At the time of filing this report, he was addressing a rally in Piljanj Mazar Road area.

He is scheduled to attend further rallies at Manda Tarun Sangha Playground at 2:00 pm, Jatrabari Shaheed Faruk Road at 3:00 pm, Jurain-Shyampur Road at 4:00 pm, Dhupkhola Playground at 5:00 pm and Lalbagh Balurmath at 6:00 pm.

The campaign rally of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque (nominee of the alliance in Dhaka 13-11 party elections) was held at Mohammadpur Eidgah Ground from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

The event was attended by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman and National Civic Party convener Nahid Islam, among others.

Meanwhile, a massive procession led by Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to start from Agargaon Taltola area at 4:00 pm.

According to the Electoral Commission’s schedule, the campaign is scheduled to end at 7:30 am tomorrow.
